On International Women’s day, I had a luncheon with a few local Chinese girlfriends (I live in Beijing). We had a discussion about spouse infidelity. They told me that it is a fact that husbands will stray and it is an art to be a smart wife, i.e. to turn a blind eye.

Women wants their men to be successful. But when they are, these men will find themselves tempted by this “colourful world”. But my girlfriends said that at the end of the day, these men will all go home to their wives, i.e. the wife will win the war afterall, so why give up their place to confront the mistress.

I agree to the fact that men will stray but this does not mean I will accept it.

MP Lim Biow Chuan’s callous comments clearly indicate where he stand in terms of his moral and family values. Many netizens are also commenting that as a divorce lawyer, Mr Lim constantly helps his clients to deter children from seeing the other parent.
