Daphne Khoo asks – when it comes to Singapore Idol, is there an actual battle of the sexes on Idol or are we just missing the point?
Singapore women that want to sing just need to step it up a notch I reckon. Embrace that we can take on the responsibility of being someone worthy of respect and as such, be respectfully skilful. Admitting when we need to, that there’s always room for improvement and display efforts to achieve them.
At the end of the day the good news for people like Sylvia and even myself is that life, and our music, goes on even after the curtains close. We might not have a million dollar contract waiting on us right now, but you can’t fail if you don’t give up.
Daphne Khoo knows what she is talking about because she hails from the Singapore Idol Alumni in the first season of Singapore Idol. She finished fourth and that is a mighty great result we think. Daphne has one album under her belt titled “Desperate” and 22 year old (she turns 23 in 17 days) has just completed her degree in Australia, Melbourne.
